Anna Michele believes that sometimes rebellion is gentle. Sometimes it’s silly and weird and goose-shaped, and it’s always imperfect. In that way, her pieces are an active rebellion, revealing that perfectionist, highly exclusive art norms rooted in ableist, masculine, euro-centred concepts need to be challenged.

Anna works purposefully in ceramics and fibre arts, choosing mediums that have historically held narrow acceptance within the fine art world. 

As a feminine, queer, neurodivergent person, she understands what it means to exist at the edges of belonging and creates pieces that live in that same space. Her practice focuses on making art accessible and unpretentious, demonstrating that creative work doesn’t have to be serious to be meaningful.
